As stated earlier, April Acevez is married to American musician Matthew David Cameron, who was born on November 28, 1962, and he plays drums for the rock group Pearl Jam. San Diego, California, is the birthplace and upbringing of Matt Cameron. Cameron picked up the drums at a young age and, with a few mates, formed a cover band at age thirteen and dubbed it “Kiss.” He met Paul Stanley around this time. But the band disintegrated when a letter from Kiss’s management threatened the youngsters with legal action if they didn’t stop their violation.
When he joined the Seattle-based rock group Soundgarden in 1986, he initially rose to recognition as their drummer. The band’s studio albums up to their 1997 breakup included him. Cameron joined the group permanently after being invited to participate in Pearl Jam’s 1998 U.S. Yield Tour.
Cameron joined Pearl Jam and the reformed Soundgarden at the same time in 2010. He stayed with Soundgarden until the band’s dissolution in 2017 following the passing of lead vocalist Chris Cornell. Cameron is one of three members who have appeared on every Soundgarden studio album, the other two being guitarist Kim Thayil and Cornell.
