Renata Kanclerz is a manager and the ex-wife of Lisa Coleman, an American musician who was a part of Prince’s supporting band, The Revolution. Renata Kanclerz’s former wife, Lisa Coleman, is an American musician born on August 17, 1960. She mainly performs on the piano and keyboards. From 1979 through 1986, she was a part of The Revolution, Prince’s supporting band. Coleman is a member of the musical duet Wendy & Lisa, which she co-founded in 1986 with Wendy Melvoin.

Lisa Coleman began her career as a keyboardist for the bubblegum pop group Waldorf Salad when she was 12. In 1973, A&M Records signed the band, including her siblings and Jonathan Melvoin. Coleman appeared in the Linda Blair made-for-TV movie Sarah T. – Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic in 1975 in a brief part as a high school pianist.

Coleman was the second born of three children when she was born. Marylou Ynda-Ciletti was her mother, a Mexican-American visual artist who died on November 17, 2013. Gary L. Coleman, the father of Coleman, is an Anglo-American session musician who was a member of the group The Wrecking Crew in the 1960s and 1970s and became friends with Mike Melvoin. Gary L. Coleman was born in 1936. 

Their families grew close and frequently collaborated on musical performances and recordings. Wendy, the daughter of Melvoin, and Lisa grew close over time; Lisa once remarked, “We’ve known each other since we were in diapers.”

Renata Kanclerz’s ex-wife Coleman was frank about her previous love interest with Wendy Melvoin. Since 2004 Coleman has been wed to Renata Kanclerz, and one child was born to the couple. Coleman and Melvoin’s theme for Nurse Jackie won an Emmy in 2010 for Outstanding Original Main Title. Purple Rain earned two Grammys and the Oscar for Best Original Score. At the same time, Coleman (and Melvoin) also share the distinction of winning a Grammy and an Oscar for their contributions to The Revolution.

In 2014, Coleman and Melvoin shared the first ASCAP Shirley Walker Award. The Shirley Walker Award recognizes those whose contributions to the variety of cinema and television music have been significant.
