DJ attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he played for the school’s basketball team, the Texas Longhorns. During the 2008 NBA Draft, he was drafted by Charlotte Bobcats. He played four seasons at Charlotte Bobcats and went to play for Indiana Pacers for a season.
From 2013 to date, he has played for Toronto Raptors (2013), Chicago Bulls (2013-2104), Detroit Pistons (2014-2015), Oklahoma City Thunders (2015 -2016), Denver Nuggets (2016), Orlando Magic (2016-2020), Milwaukee Bucks(2020-2021), Houston Rockets (2021-2022) and, Los Angeles Lakers (2022).
He is currently back at Houston Rockets, where he plays as a point guard.
Brandy Augustin and DJ Augustin were high school lovers
The relationship between Brandy and her husband, DJ, goes a long way back in time. They used to live together in the same neighborhood in New Orleans. They also attended the same high school together. They started dating while in high school but got separated when their individual families had to relocate to different cities after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005.
Both families of Brandy and DJ lost their homes and belongings. Brandy’s family relocated to Dallas, while DJ’s family also moved to Houston. Though separated, they still kept in touch and met at various places and occasions.
In 2012, the couple had their wedding ceremony to become husband and wife officially. The event took place at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Tulane Avenue, New Jersey. The occasion was attended by family and friends of both couples.
